LOYAL -- William E. Volland, 83, of Loyal
died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center Health
& Rehab in Neillsville.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30
a.m. Friday at Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal.
Visitation will be held at the funeral
home Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Cuddie Funeral Home of Loyal is assisting
the family with arrangements.

LOYAL -- William E. Volland, 83, of Loyal
died at the Memorial Medical Center Heath & Rehab, in
Neillsville on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, after an eight-year battle
with multiple myeloma.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30
a.m. today at Cuddie Funeral Home, in Loyal. Burial will take place
at a later date in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville.
Military rites will be conducted by the Loyal American Legion Post
No. 175.
Visitation will be held at the funeral
home Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
William Earnest Volland was born April
26, 1926, in Wauwatosa, the son of Jonas and Ida (Hoehn) Volland.
After serving in the U.S. Navy for two years, Bill was united in
marriage to Bernice Straub in Campbellsport. They resided in the
Campbellsport area until moving to a farm in the Neillsville/Globe
area in 1953. Bernice passed away in 1978.
In 1984, Bill sold the farm and moved to
Marshfield, and married Mary Schmidt. They later moved to
Auburndale. Mary passed away in 2001.
Bill is survived by two sons, William A. Volland and Thomas Volland, both of Granton; four daughters, Judy (Chuck) Johnson and Sharon (Stan) Ratsch, both of Greenwood, Barbara (Leroy) Johnson of Granton and Diane Aumann-Nowak (John Nowak) of Spencer; two stepchildren, Joanne (Don) Melander of Baldwin and Ron Schmidt of Delaware; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
